Since 2009, Stephen Blackwell has provided executive leadership to innovative companies in the digital media and technology industry. He most recently led as chief strategy officer for the Billboard-Hollywood Reporter Media Group, where he facilitated overall development and multi-platform publicity efforts. Stephen Blackwell joined Billboard when the company purchased Spin Media Group, formerly SpinMedia, which he led as CEO for two years.

During his tenure with SpinMedia, Stephen Blackwell oversaw a number of influential brands, including SPIN and VIBE, the latter of which he transitioned into purely digital operations. He had arrived at SpinMedia following its purchase of the music interaction brand Death and Taxes, which he founded in 2009.

Active in his community, Stephen Blackwell volunteers with New York Cares and serves as a mentor at the Fordham Foundry, a business incubator for members of the Fordham University community.
