Experienced artist and art educator.
My most recent experience teaching is as Adjunct Professor of Foundations and Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Los Angeles. Courses include Illustration, Rapid Visualization, Observational Drawing, Color Theory, and Design Fundamentals. In each of these courses aesthetics and creativity are emphasized. Examples of Student work from my teaching career can be seen below.
In addition to my work as an educator I am also an artist and illustrator. While much of my art work is created individually, I am very comfortable taking art direction and working on design projects in more collaborative setting. I have assisted and created works for a variety of established contemporary artists. In both my personal, collaborative, and freelance illustrations I am able to translate complex ideas into compelling imagery.
My artwork is held in several private collections and will be exhibited at the Bakersfield Museum of Art in January of 2015
I am currently seeking full/part time and freelance work in the fields of Graphic Design and Illustration in the Los Angeles area.

Illustrated a series of 8-bit video game screens mimicking the look and feel of the Commodore 64 games of the 1980's. These illustrations were composited into live action sequences of characters interacting with the game.
Also created a more realistic painting in Photoshop that was comped into the footage as the box-art for the game.

Polygon.com
Freelance Editorial llustration
A series of 6 editorial illustrations created for the feature article , “How Milo Met Kate: The Story Behind Lionhead’s Virtual Boy” which was published in March 2013 on Polygon.com.
I worked closely with Art Director Warren Schultheis as well as the author Matt Leone to establish a theme, tone and narrative for the series of illustrations that accompanied the piece.
These illustrations were recently completed for an article published on Polygon.com on March 21st 2013.
The article, How Milo Met Kate: The Story Behind Lionhead's Virtual Boy by Matt Leone deals with the development and eventual downfall of a game called Milo and Kate. The game, which was being built alongside Microsoft Kinect was meant to function as a virtual boy whom players could befriend using the new hardware.
The article details many of the achievements and pitfalls that led to the projects demise. The accompanying illustrations reflect upon how this kind of development process might impact a character that had been created to be effected by his interactions in the outside world.
