Sam K. Kim was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting, and Pratt Institute with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. From 2004 to 2011, he worked as a children's book designer at Penguin Group Publishing in New York City, while pursuing his passions in fine arts. Currently after a year in the San Diego area of California and a couple months in Munich, Germany, working as a contract MAYA modeler and training as an automotive clay sculptor, he has recently relocated to Detroit, Michigan pursuing his career as a creative sculptor for General Motors.
