My artwork explores the relation between concepts like: suspension, faith, the liminal, the detachment and emptiness. I approach these concepts in different formats to produce an impression: photography, analogue photography, painting, experimental video and in some cases sculpture and staging.
I feel that my work could be interpreted as a revision of romanticism from the distance of contemporary language and media (my supports) because my excuses to try understand this concepts in the image, actions that take place in the landscape, portraits and in the “simplicity” of the documentary. My intention with these concepts is to seek to uncover the power of being in those stages, sometimes the beauty of the silence, sometimes the power of the faith, sometimes the suspension of the gesture. Eventually, those little “happenings” manifest to me while they embody the first step trying to magnify through the visual language. As Hamlet overview each of these apparitions, I take the parts and I start a duel with these fragments that await to find their concretion. My place for the duel is the digital software, the analogue laboratory, the philosophy and when I try to fix the shards, my strategy is the montage to understand the time and the movement of the image, the sound and the postproduction.
This tools and discourses were born in the influence from the film image. They took shape in the found footage and other process that result in my work like an Art Director for feature films in my country.
