Northworks is a Chicago-based full service architecture and planning firm, offering new building design, historic preservation, site planning, construction management, building conditions analysis, and interior design, including custom furniture.

• Author daily articles on design, interiors and dwelling issues for nationally recognized shelter website that has achieved ranking in Time Magazine Design 100, 50 Best Websites, The Style and Design 100; and Vanity Fair Blogopticon.
• Over 750 articles published to date, with topics that include house tours, product reviews, design trends, green building technologies and style inspiration.
• Responsible for ‘Green Architect’ feature column, daily article submission, editing and photography, correspondence with manufacturers, and trade show and event coverage.
• Contributed to the Apartment Therapy green living site, Re-Nest.com, from 2008-2011

• Project portfolio includes a LEED Platinum residence; a 100 property rehabilitation and neighborhood stabilization program; high-end single family homes, renovations and additions; commercial and restaurant design; airport planning, retail and concession build-outs.
• Responsibilities include LEED project administration, coordination, and consultations; sustainable strategies and analysis; presentations for clients, consultants, contractors, schools and municipalities; and coordination of historic and landmark renovations.
• Research the newest technologies and materials, and coordinate presentations from leading sustainable and construction-oriented companies to enhance the firm’s sustainable practices.
• Work has been featured in a number of publications and received distinctions including the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency Certificate of Rehabilitation, Evanston Preservation & Design Award, Good Neighbor Award, and Natural Home + Garden’s Home of the Decade.

• Responsible for assisting project managers with production of all phases of design.
• Develop and render 3-D CAD models including the generation of photo realistic images, movies and solar animations to provide accurate views of planned architecture projects.
• Write press releases and produce marketing images for presentations, clients and websites.

• Participated in and documented the design and construction of an outdoor marketplace and composting toilets for a small community in Ghana.
• Conducted interviews with local women regarding everyday life and needs.
• Documented research in a unique hand-made book, which includes the design drawings, photos, construction documents, historical references on West African indigenous architecture, and analysis of current and past construction projects.
• Created a 3-D model of final structure to be used in the generation of future projects.
• Presented to Miami University the research experience and final project.
