Professor Kinney and a team of from his third year Knowledge Design course along with members of the Institute Without Boundaries designed and built an Augmented Reality exhibition celebrating the history of Game Design. The graphics for the exhibition provide a detailed timeline in the evolution of the industry featuring seminal developmental milestones in in a matrix of business, culture, hardware and software. In turn, the graphics drive On Demand premium content that provides the learner with student-produced documentaries as well as interviews with game development luminaries like Robin Kaye from the Guitar Hero team.
The project serves a dual purpose as an exhibit as well as a proof of concept for embedding learning into the architecture of physical learning spaces.
