Since May 2012, police officer Peter Reichard has served as deputy chief of the New London Police Department in Connecticut. He possesses more than 25 years of experience in police work, having begun his career working for the New Haven Police Department in 1988 after he graduated from the New Haven Police Academy. He rose up the ranks with the department, becoming a sergeant and lieutenant. Peter Reichard also served as director of police operations for the Pilot Pen tennis tournament, district manager of Westville/West Hills Community Policing District, and officer in charge of the Information Directed Neighborhood Enforcement Team. In his final position with the New Haven Police Department, he operated as assistant chief of police.

Peter Reichard has earned several degrees and additional training. He received an associate of science and a bachelor of science in public safety administration and criminal justice from Charter Oak State College. He also graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and took a counterterrorism seminar through the Anti-Defamation League. Read Less
