As a graphic designer and illustrator, I focus on creating meaningful pieces through informed design. I believe that while I cannot plan for timelessness of a design, the best diligence I can do for my client is educating myself as best as possible. I believe that this design and thinking pairing helps to create designs that resonate and hold weight beyond visual aesthetic.
I have an emphasis on logos, lettering, and print collateral. These are the aspects of design that bring me joy and fulfillment in creating. Each aspect brings its own challenges and the sense of accomplishment upon finishing them, is what has drawn me to design.
I drive myself to try to grow every single day and create something every single day, even if it sucks. I believe to be in a constant personal challenge of creativity, helps to grow my creative "muscles." I make a (mostly) daily habit of posting another sketch, drawing, or illustration of this process on my instagram @patrickiceberg.
I believe my experiences in different creative environments have helped make me a better designer and a more rounded person. Working at JCPenney and Fleishman Hillard has show me more specialized corporate design roles and the strengths that accompany the collaboration of design teams. Working currently at Mavich Branding Group and previously at First Euless has grown me in my knowledge of different production processes and responsibilities. As much as a designers would love to be a uni-tasking machine, I think the process of these different work environments has grown my knowledge and humbled me.
