I worked on making a web based media asset management system (In-viewer 2.0) usable.
My work was to do a Usability analysis on InViewer system. The InViewer system is a web based Media Asset Management (MAM) system that has been in use since 2003. A new version has been developed since the last two years. The newer version will be launched in Sweden and Scandinavia in spring 2012 and on the
international market (especially USA) later 2012-2013. The focus of the usability tests were inexperienced users and first-time users. Since it is web based and the system will be deployed in larger companies and organizations there are a large number of users that will be using the system without a formal introduction or access to a written manual on beforehand.
Through the usability test results, many interaction guidelines and design suggestions and recommendations were proposed to eradicate the usability issues that were encountered
during heuristic evaluation of the In-viewer system.
