I aim, in all of my work, to create both something beautiful and functional. I approach each project I receive as a problem to solve. The problem solving process does not quit when I stop working. Sometimes, directions come to me in my sleep and the ideas bounce relentlessly around inside my head until I get them out.
I was born and raised in suburban Minnesota. I loved playing with figurines, and I would create elaborate storylines, which often needed props; Of course, I would create them with tape and paper.
I struggled in school with an undiagnosed learning disability (which I now know is called Dyscalculia) and I honestly credit that with the discovery of my creative abilities. In school, I took as many art classes as possible because I was good at them. Creative projects energized me where math assignments drained me. In short, my difficulties with numbers fueled my infatuation with ideas.
I am a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, with a BFA in Graphic Design. I am well versed in the art of the Facebook page, and I know how to keep my friends entertained. (At least, I hope they see it that way!) I watch Doctor Who, and I have been getting into nonfiction books. My classmates describe me as a short, white woman who likes black coffee and scary music. In the future though, I want to be known as the creative and technical jack-of-all-trades.
