Design Consultant

Together with a colleague I support a workgroup of the Politie Brabant Zuid-Oost/Noord to find a solution to stop the illegal trade of goods (heling). My task is to guide part of the group through the design process, stimulate design thinking and identifying & discussing design opportunities. After every session we create a detailed report of the session, including proposals for future research.

Muziek Centrum Nederland

Internship / Graduation project

Design and development of my TU/e graduation project “Future Nostalgia”, which had started in February 2011. During the internship I have analyzed qualitative data from interviews and social media, analysis of statistics from one of the websites of Muziek Centrum Nederland. The project evolved into an iPhone Application that enables users to share memory-inducing music with close friends. I have implemented the interaction and functionality, and developed a working beta prototype of the application for the iPhone. www.mendeldesign.nl/futurenostalgia/opus6

Student assistant Hand Drawing

Together with another student I assisted the teacher for the drawing education of Architecture and Industrial Design to shape the course material, and during the classes to help the students with the exercises. After every course I was involved in the grading of the deliverables.

During the first 1,5 years I assisted the teacher of Industrial Design in groups of 25 students (Bachelor and Master), 8 hours a week. After my internship in Denmark I rejoined the drawing education, but now at the department of Architecture, for 4 hours a week, assisting groups of 30 first-year-students.

Together with a student assistant from Architecture I was the teacher for a course in basic geometrical drawing skills. The group consisted of 25 1st-year and 2nd-year students from Industrial Design, and the course was taught in 7 three-hour meetings. I got the freedom to shape the materials and the exercises, in collaboration with the responsible teacher. Halfway the course I had individual feedback meetings with the students, and at the end of the course we graded the work.
