Max Little

Norwich, United Kingdom
I am comfortable working on any aspect of design, be it print, web or motion based. My biggest strengths are my typography and a keen eye for general design principles. Ideas are a big part of my design practice but I believe the work also has to look good before people will take the time to appreciate the idea. I think I know what looks good and therefore make good looking work. Recently I have been developing my skills in animation and motion graphics.

Ideas Factory@NUCA

Graphic Designer

I was pleased to be accepted for this three month paid placement to be a designer for ideas factory@NUCA, an element of the university that delivers real creative solutions to real businesses. During my time there I worked on an illustration brief for a major housing association, website concept and design for a video archive site, shoe designs and brand proposals for a major footwear manufacturer, information graphics for a research company and several internal posters, leaflets and banners for the university open days and other events. This was an intensive summer placement where I was responsible for everything from early ideas right through to meeting and presenting to clients and print and production of outcomes. I learnt a lot during this time and my professional practice and confidence was boosted massively by being a part of the ideas factory@NUCA.

My second internship at The Point was a short one lasting one week, filling a gap over my Easter break. This time I worked on a pitch for the agency to attract a new client. This was a task that ran over the week. From developement of ideas, sourcing presentation material and images, artworking concepts and working up presentation visuals for the agency to pitch to the client.

The Point Advertising Agency

Graphic Design Intern

A two week placement. During these two weeks I worked on several live briefs from an ideas and concept stage through to artworking and presentation of visuals. Most projects in this time had a very quick turnaround (usually a couple of days per brief) which got me used to the pressure of working in a busy advertising agency. I was invited back after the two weeks at The Point.
