Matti Müller

I am trained to the Master of Fine Arts degree in interior design at Hamburg Academz of Arts - Hamburger Akademie für Kommunikationsdesign und Art Direktion. Following experience at an innovative Hamburg based interior design company I set up MÜLLER DESIGNS in 2005. The key focus of the interior design practice is working with individuals and families to create beautiful homes. Commercial designs are covered by MÜLLER & GRÄBE a recent collaboration with South African designer Konrad Gräbe based in Cape Town.
In 2008 I have joined IM AT HOME company from Warsaw ,Poland and since then working with extremely energetic and talented designers Monika Czajkowska and Tomasz Pagowski. This project covers a broad spectrum of design including graphics, multimedia, interiors and visuals.

The starting point for any project is gaining a detailed understanding of the client's needs and preferences and their way of living. How the space is to be used and its architecture are key factors that are taken into consideration in the final scheme.
My style has been described as "sophisticated contemporary" with a focus on comfort, elegance and quality. I love to use subtlety and texture in my designs, layering natural materials such as wood, stone, linen, leather and silk.
I am personally involved at every stage of the project from conception of the design to completion of the implementation, creating a high level of client trust and satisfaction.

Lighting plays a key role in my work and is used to create different moods and atmospheres.
I understand that the implementation and quality of finish are vital to any scheme and have developed relationships with craftspeople and contractors who share my attention to detail and passion to exceed client expectations.I have a ‘hands on’ approach enabling myself to work closely with other experts in their fields and provide practical solutions whilst achieving individuality. My keen interest in materials and finishes provides clients with well researched and realistic options for his designs.
Current projects include complete refurbishment and extension to a Georgian house in Leamington Spa, updating a family house in Harborne, Nail Salon in the hot spot in Warsaw and decorating an apartment in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
