Manuela Jimenez is a jewelry designer with a background in industrial design and deep knowledge of advanced jewelry techniques including, piercing, sawing, filing, riveting, scoring, bending, sanding, texturing, stone bezel setting, and soldering utilizing an acetylene torch and a propane-oxygen mini-torch. At New York's Mallary Marks Fine Jewelry, she fabricates and actively contributes to the design of unique jewelry in 18-22K yellow gold and precious stones. She can also be found giving instruction on various jewelry techniques and lecturing on historical and contemporary jewelry at Brooklyn Metal Works, NY. In addition to her practice as a goldsmith, Manuela has experience as a gallery assistant and office coordinator. Most recently, she managed inventory, handled sales, and coordinated exhibitions and fundraising events at Gallery Loupe. Prior to earning her MFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing at RISD in 2013, Manuela worked as a Product Developer for Villie Fashion Jewellery and Accessories, in DongGuang, China, where she designed small-scale production lines. While at Villie, she became familiar with the Chinese market, mass production processes, and sales. Before traveling to the US, Manuela owned her own jewelry brand in Bogotá, Colombia.
