Managing social media, updating orders, contact lists and volunteer rotas and also developing workroom systems.

Working with one other person, we were given the task of applying silk to tulle vest's and dress's, more complicated that it sounds as we had to cut out over 300 motifs and 'tactfully' arrange them so all the garments looked the same working with the limited material available.

As well as being a volunteer helping out at events, I was also an intern at the head office over the summer of 2012. I helped out with designs and sampling for commissions and new products and also organised and ran a 'monogram whilst you wait' service at the pop up shop in Mayfair.
Once my internship was over I continued to work at the Mayfair shop until it closed in December 2012.

Working to a tight deadline we had to embroider 3 large photographic panels as part of a design campaign for George Jensen, the jewellery designer.

I was commissioned to produce two pieces of smocked silk to be used for high-end Christmas products.

During my time here I was a regular assistant at various craft based workshops and events. I also had the opportunity to work directly with the editor for Cross Stitch magazine helping to design and make projects to be photographed for two issues.

I am currently on my second year of the Hand Embroidery BA at the Royal School of Needlework. As well as learning traditional hand embroidery techniques we also focus on drawing, print, design development and fabric manipulation.
