Born in Notre-Dame-du-Portage in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, Laurence Messier-Moreau has made the intersection of urbanity and nature the main focus of her craft. She holds a BFA in photography from Concordia University, Montreal, and her works have been displayed at the l'Envers gallery, the DARE-DARE centre de diffusion d'art de Montreal, as well as the FOFA Gallery and VAV Gallery.

While completing a Masters degree in anthropology at the Université de Montréal, Messier-Moreau produced several documentaries. Her social documentary Nord Pour Tous has been well-received in scholarly circles, presented at academic conferences at the University of Ottawa and the Université de Montréal.

Since then, she has worked at Productions Funambules Medias, a cultural organization. There, she oversaw the production of several artistic and documentary co-creation projects in collaboration with different entities, including L'Accueil Bonneau, La Maison du Pere, La Maisonnee, le Centre-Jeunesse de Montreal and Paroles D'exclues.
