Senior Lighting and Shading Artist
I was tasked with overseeing our transition from Renderman 19 and REYES to Renderman 21 and RIS. This included identifying and solving optimization challenges, developing lighting, shading and rendering strategies, character and environment look development as well as workflow scripting in Python. Master scenes were created for environments, characters and props for easy scene assembly, lighting and rendering. Slap comps with further look development were prepared in Nuke for our composting department as well. I worked side by side with my Lighting TD to further optimize the performance of the lighting department,
while developing the junior team with the knowledge gained during our R&D stage to improve their productivity.

Currently employed as a generalist, my responsibilities include modeling, lighting, texturing, and handling of small, one man projects, from start, to delivery. I work remotely from my home office in South Africa, and commute to Dubai when I'm needed on larger projects.
