A diverse design engineering role, leading the product development of small domestic appliances, focussed on Garment Care, Worktop Cooking and Household Cleaning sub-categories.

As part of the Morphy Richards NPI design team, I have taken large innovation projects through the stage gate process, from research and concept development up to the point of tooling. Core responsibilities:

• Consumer insight, market research, existing product, and competitor benchmarking.
• Sketching and ideation, focussing heavily on user interaction and creating solutions which meet the brief, user needs and product requirements.
• Ownership of the product engineering, testing and evaluating samples, development of features and user interaction, creating and testing proof of principal prototypes.
• Technical documentation required throughout the stage gate process, including: DFMEA, Product requirements, specifications and presenting projects to key stakeholders in the business.
