J. Randall Waterfield, Chairman of the Waterfield Group and a member of the board of directors of Cappello Waterfield & Co., focuses on more than his businesses in the technology, energy, real estate, and financial sectors. Through the Waterfield Foundation and other charitable entities, he supports numerous educational and environmental causes. Mr. Waterfield also lends assistance to Culver Summer Schools & Camps through service on the board of directors.

Culver Military Academy's Summer Schools & Camps offers a number of unique programs. Set on 1,800 acres, the schools and camps draw more than 1,300 youngsters ages 7 to 17 from around the world. The children and teenagers gain self-esteem, discipline, leadership skills, and confidence, the same qualities J. Randall Waterfield utilizes in his roles as a business owner and financial services professional. Culver Summer Schools & Camps also teach other important qualities, such as character, appreciation for diversity, and respect for oneself and for others.

J. Randall Waterfield also aided in establishing the Waterfield Endowment Scholarships for students attending Canterbury School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where his grandfather started the first Waterfield businesses in 1928. The institution, founded in 1977, educates students on two campuses from early childhood (age two) through high school. Canterbury School’s curriculum places an emphasis on fine arts, including performance; community service and outreach programs; and rigorous academic standards. With the assistance of scholarships such as those provided by J. Randall Waterfield, students at Canterbury School have won 8 state championships in sports and routinely score 250 points above the Indiana average on SAT tests. J. Randall Waterfield also supports Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne through the Waterfield Campus Housing Program.

Quoted often in major newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times, J. Randall Waterfield receives frequent invitations to appear on television as well, on such programs as Fox News, CNBC, and MSNBC. In addition, he speaks on CNN Radio. A member of high-IQ organization Mensa International Limited, J. Randall Waterfield serves on the Executive Committee of the Young Presidents’ Organization, Northeast Region, and he holds designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst. J. Randall Waterfield honed his leadership and financial services skills in positions at Prudential Securities in New York and at Fidelity Investments in Boston. At Goldman Sachs, he held responsibility for the institutional small cap growth portfolios. Since 1999, he has acted as Chairman of the privately held Waterfield Group, the roots of which date back to the 1920s, when Mr. Waterfield’s grandfather started Waterfield Insurance Agency and Waterfield Mortgage Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
