Jordan Williams

Graphic Designer

United Kingdom
Hello, I’m Jordan Williams, but you can call me Jord’ for short. I am a Graphic Designer at Flexicare Medical. Design is a passion of mine, and a relationship I hope to carry with me throughout my life. We have our ups and downs with one another, but each time we come out the other end of a task, fighting stronger and growing!

Although I may seem quite shy at the start, my personality never holds back from my designs. I always aim to create the best I can, not holding back any bold statements I wish to push forward through my designs; if I feel they are necessary!

Lewis Civil Engineering

Graphic Designer

I was fortunate enough to get a summer job at Lewis Civil Engineering during my time at the University of South Wales. Here I took on the role of Design Manager.

With this job role, I was responsible for bringing the brand of Lewis Civil Engineering to life throughout their marketing products, such as; magazines, posters and pull up billboards.

My title as design manager involved working with the client direct, which improved my communication and team work skills. I also got to learn a lot about time keeping and working towards tight deadlines, as several tasks would come into the office for me to start and finish within a very short period of time. These tasks however had to hold the same detail and excel in the design as much as a brief with a longer deadline. I would also be carrying out a variety of jobs at one time. This really pushed my organisation skills and I became more aware of the importance of keeping track of all that needs to be done, and making a plan in order to move forward and complete tasks.

My work also provided communicational gatherings with the execetives at Lewis’ in order for me to present my work to them and gain critical feedback, to take on board and develop the idea above the required standard, aiding my presentation skills.

Graphic Designer and Printer

Smartsignz is a welsh based printing company, who provide design and print for a whole range of products, from window artwork, business cards, and t shirt prints.

It was during this time where I really got to expand my knowledge of the print industry. Printing the pieces myself and getting the products ready for production developed my whole knowledge of the process and enabled me to grow as a designer; and the way I look at a design from a brief perspective.

University Of South Wales

Graphic Communications Bachelors Honour Degree

It was during my studies at the University of South Wales where I really got to experiment with design, and personally grow confident as a designer.

During my time here, I worked on many live briefs, real clients and a got introduced to some of the biggest design competitions in the country.

My studies at the University of South Wales developed my skills of answering briefs correctly, while also expanding my research and experience with available software. Each project demanded a preview of my creative journey in order to present to the lecturers and students during the critique. Creating a Digital Sketchbook of my journey developed my thought process, and allowed me to summarise my ideas in order to question whether I have solved the design problems at hand. The process also aided me to bring all of my concepts together in order to get feedback and make the best decisions for the brief.
