Inês Mota is currently doing a six months internship with Red Ladder Theatre Company, based in Leeds, United Kingdom, through the Erasmus+ program.

In 2016 she finished her bachelor's degree in Set Design at Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espectáculo (ESMAE) in Porto and started doing some freelance work. During the last semester of her three year course she attended Libera Accademia di Belle Arti in Brescia, Italy, as an Erasmus+ student. She first discovered her soft spot for theatre and scenery in high-school while attending Escola Artística de Soares dos Reis, a specialised arts school in Portugal.

In 2015, Inês' work was selected to be featured in APCEN's (Associação Portuguesa de Cenografia) project for the Portuguese Student Section exhibition at Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space. In 2014, she helped in the construction of the set for the closing show of SET (Semana das Escolas de Teatro, 2014), a theatre festival organised by ESMAE which involves every school of theatre in the country. She also volunteered in FIMP (Festival Internacional de Marionetas do Porto, 2014, 2015 and 2016), Porto's Puppet Theatre Festival, and participated in Serralves em Festa, 2013, with a puppet theatre project called “Damas, Donzelas e Princesas”. In 2012, Inês participated in "Bicho de Sete Cabeças", a community project of Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora, helping in the construction and manipulation of the heads of the seven headed beast.
