I lead the design team at IU Communications, the primary marketing agency for Indiana University. I oversee the concept and creation of materials this team of ten designers produces, which includes: print campaigns, magazines, websites, digital media, specialty items, and video productions. In 2016, I was part of the team that created and rolled out the university-wide branding guidelines and system. It’s an exciting challenge to explore ways to continue implementing the brand while expanding its potential as we take on new projects.

My experience is rooted in art directing and designing for digital media, magazines, and newspapers. Before joining IU Communications, I was an art director at Politico. My primary focus was the design and presentation of The Agenda, their monthly digital policy magazine, as well as larger investigative pieces. Often I would hire and art direct freelance illustrators, photographers, and infographic artists for these projects.

My print and digital design work has been recognized by Society for News Design, an international design organization. I grew my art direction and design skills at the Washington Post and the San Diego Union-Tribune, and have project managed the digital presence of companies such as Cricket Wireless, California Avocado Commission, and SHEA Homes in my role at Red Door Interactive, a digital marketing agency.
