Following a 3 month apprenticeship, I was offered a position as a
Graphic Designer. From my skills learned at university and working in
graphic design roles previously, I have been able to complete tasks
with very little assistance & training.
In this role I created menus, business cards, booklets, logos, outdoor
banners, pavement signs, folders, clothing tags, roll-ups, company
posters, vouchers, letter heads, web mails, email shoots & certificates.
Most of my duties are designing, branding, designing promotional
materials for marketing & on-line social media.
Redesigned the company's website with all new graphics to bring it
up-to-date using programs such as: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign,
3D Studio Max, Premiere, After Effects, WordPress.
Used the office machinery for different type of copying, printing and
scanning (Xerox machine, Utax printer & large format printer), cutting,
creasing, binding laminating & folding sizes.
Skills gained: customer service, teamwork communication.

I am currently completing a 3 month apprenticeship in Vega Print, Cardiff. I approached the company myself and was rewarded with this opportunity. From the skills I have learnt in University and working in graphic Design offices previously I have been able to complete tasks with very little assistance and training. In this office I have been tasked with creating restaurant menus, business cards, flyers, booklets, outdoor banners, pavement signs and company posters. I also re-designed the company's website with all new graphics to bring it up to date using programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. I have been taught how to use the proffesional machinery within the office for the different printing, cutting, scanning and binding sizes that the company offers.
I am still completing my apprenticeship but I have been offered a position at the company as a Junior Designer once I have completed my 3 months.
