The Sound of Light

TYPOGRAPHY-----------------------------------
The Sound of Light
This typeface is designed based on the exploration into the glaring fluorescent-lit typographic signboards; so famous and evidently witnessed in the 80s. A time when discos, with its flashy strobe lights, flourished, and the production of LPs (Long Playing vinyl discs) was used by the masses. Vinyl coated gaffer’s tapes (its surface texture similar to that of LPs) are used to construct this type, its structures reminiscent of the straight, linear movements of fluorescent strobe lights. The colour of the tape changes at every turn in constructing the strokes of each alphabet, similar to how strobe lights change according to the rhythm of music.
