Fanakalo was founded by Rohan Etsebeth and Jan Solms in 2009. In late 2018, Jan started two side hustles called 'Muti Gin' and 'Cape Collective', and he also works as a freelance designer under the name 'janneman.co.za'. Rohan is designing under a new moniker, namely, 'Archival'.
