Dr. Susan Turner has worked for more than a decade building a successful career as a psychiatrist through positions at hospitals and institutions across New York City. Her educational background includes an MA in cultural anthropology from Emory University and an MD from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons (Columbia P&S). Subsequently, Dr. Susan Turner completed her psychiatry internship and residency at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and the New York State Psychiatric Institute, where she served as chief resident. In the following year, she earned board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

In 2003, Dr. Turner accepted a position as attending physician at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where she oversaw the team of medical students and PGII psychiatry residents. During her tenure with the hospital, she also coauthored a book chapter on inpatient treatment for depression and mania. Dr. Turner later leveraged her teaching experience to serve as attending supervisor at the Psychiatric Institute Resident Clinic.

Today, Dr. Susan Turner operates as a psychiatrist through her private practice, where she takes a holistic approach to patient treatment. In addition to employing supportive therapies and lifestyle changes, she uses psychopharmacology to help her patients manage mental disorders. Read Less
