Board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, Solomon Shah, MD, has provided care for patients at the Fairfax and Reston, Virginia, offices of Gastrointestinal Medicine Associates, PC (GMA), since 1999. He has extensive experience in hepatology, defined as the study, diagnosis, and management of disorders that affect the liver. As a physician with GMA, Dr. Soloman Shah belongs to a group practice consisting solely of diplomates of the American Board of Internal Medicine and its subspecialty gastroenterology board.

Through GMA, Soloman Shah, MD, maintains affiliations with Reston Hospital, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, and Inova Loudoun Hospital. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he has served as both an instructor of physical diagnosis and an assistant instructor of medicine. He has also cowritten articles for scholarly publication on subjects ranging from recurrent biliary cirrhosis to fistula appearance in Barrett’s esophagus. Among his research projects, Dr. Soloman Shah has examined the function of intestinal microorganisms in the occurrence of inflammatory bowel disease and worked on the Hemoprompt Project, a comparative study on the creation of new hemoccult screening cards.

Dr. Soloman Shah received an MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School. After completing an internship and residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he fulfilled a gastroenterology fellowship at University of Maryland Hospital.
