Delia Andrieş is a young visual artist who lives and works in Bucharest. In 2010, she obtained a Painting BFA and in 2012, an ATCM, both degrees offered by UAGE Iasi. Currently, she is a PhD researcher at the National University of Arts, Bucharest, with a thesis which debates upon problems of phenomenological response in visual arts. She has published in art theory volumes, approaching themes from the spheres of visual culture, analytical aesthetics and formalist theories in art, manifesting particular interest in the relationship between artistic discourse, practice and reception. In 2012, she cofounded eXpus, an NGO which stands as platform for artistic communication and mediation. She participated at several group exhibitions, experimenting various media such as painting, digital photography, installation, performance & theatre scenography. In 2013, she exhibited the second solo painting project, Portraits of Absence, which initiates the Visual Silence series, an extensive project in progress. In 2014, she is selected in X Platform residence - Bucharest, an international program dedicated to new media artists, in which she develops Selfdystopia. 3E, an interactive synaesthetic performance, on technological base. Like poetry, paradox or revelation, art involves mechanisms of compressing the real, whose coherent manipulation contains the potentiality of complex experiences occurrence in the singularity of reception. Manifested through a deflection towards the suspension in mute meanings of habitual trajectory of thinking, this sort of impact is important in completing the instrumentary “given" of knowledge processes and requires any art practitioner (for whom the exhibit stake targets the beholder’s response) the effort to assimilate a competence of directing the premises of its trigger in a subject whose setup, in spite of common sense, is unique. It finally gets to a matter of ethics (if the creative act becomes profession once inside the institutional field), whose mere calling into question explains what I’d radically call hamartia* of the artistic phenomenon - a context wherein the ontological relation between art and ethics is outpaced, for a while now, by a culture of alternative and difference which only potentiate, by vicious mirroring, the condition of man with broken legs in front of a crossroad of indicators. Here's a performative act by which I’d motivate the split of my approach in dichotomies of hesitation and emergence, in a (de)formation transition of the princess-artist, from inside de Vigny's tower, onto an integrated professional (H. Becker) who doesn’t question his adjustment.
