David Parmelee

Owner & User Experience Designer

Gambrills, MD, USA
I am a user experience designer with a strategic way of thinking, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for finding optimal, honest solutions that benefit the users of the digital products that I design. I own a design company called Thrill & Create and function as both its owner and principal designer.

My primary services are information architecture (site organization and page layouts), interaction design (dealing with how users interact with the site and its pages), and usability evaluations. I also provide some visual design services primarily involving color schemes, photography, and typography. Since starting my company, I have successfully launched sites for several clients in the amusement and nonprofit spaces.

As a former software engineer, I am comfortable using specialized prototyping tools such as Axure or writing code in the browser using tools such as Firebug. I have also become quite familiar with WordPress, which over 20% of websites, including several of my clients', use to power their sites.

Even as a software engineer, I demonstrated a consistent ability to connect with my software's users. This made UX and particularly interaction design a strong career fit for me. I love to understand a site or app's current and prospective user bases and deliver solutions that help them achieve their goals in a positively memorable way while avoiding their pain points as much as possible.
