As a student of Product Design, I learn to harness my creative, artistic, and problem-solving skills. I also gain a relevant understanding of technology and materials, and a sensitive awareness of human needs and behaviour through user-centred design. I learn to combine these abilities to create products that satisfy, even delight, users. I acquire an understanding of Product Design from both an engineering and a marketing point of view.
The course is highly practical, with an emphasis on project-based learning, workshops, laboratory sessions, and group work. A six-month, full-time, paid work experience placement in a relevant employment setting will ensure that knowledge gained through coursework is consolidated into real-life experience.
