Daniel Shenise

Freelance Designer

Santa Monica, CA, USA
With my perspective as both designer and creative director, my focus has always been to deliver an experience that moves the bar beyond client expectations. Utilizing a broad range of skills refined by working with a variety of top agencies and A-list clients over the past 12 years, I’ve provided solutions that ring true to brand managers, alleviating stress for event producers, saved money for clients, and excited audiences and end users. From permanent exhibits, to trade show booths large and small, to month long press events and product launches, I’ve handled the jobs on time and on budget (or close to it).

Work Experience

Freelancer

Experiential Designer and Creative Director

When my residential career wrapped up in 2008 thanks to the Great Recession, I transitioned to experiential design. My first job was a ride and drive event for Ford. Since then I've done corporate training events for Nissan, trade show booths for too many to list, fashion shows for CAbi, among other diverse experiences.

I've done these jobs primarily as a freelance team member of a lot of great agencies including: Envy-Create, The Sheppard, AMCI, Gail & Rice, and George P Johnson.

My client list includes:
Cabi, Square Enix, Ericsson, Intel, PTTOW, OUE Skyspace, Uber, CA Technologies, Taco Bell, Pak-Lite, Smiths Interconnect, Solaris Paper, Lotte World Tower, Revlon, Wencor, Juicy Couture, ColourPop, Toyota Rock and Roll Marathon, FCA Fleet Auto Sales, Budweiser, GenNext, Summerfest, Silicon Valley Bank, Herbalife, Nissan Motor Co., Simmons Bedding, Amdocs-InTouch, Vulcan, Technicolor, Xbox, Microsoft, Windows Phone, Lexus, AFLAC, Mary Kay, Infiniti, Pet Supply Plus, Univera, TRUECar, and Ford among others.

Sawhorse

Architectural Designer

I was hired to lead a second design team for Sawhorse, one of Atlanta's oldest and most successful remodeling firms. While there I signed over half the company's revenue in four months time. This was not enough however to keep the firm in business and it ceased operations in April 2008 and the company name sold. During my tenure I was responsible for one whole house remodel design, a basement build-out (~ 3,200 SF so not exactly a small basement), a Lanai addition, and a historic condominium remodel.

Anglo Consolidated

Draftsman to Assistant Designer

Began career as part-time draftsman while attending college, finished time with Anglo as Assistant Designer. We developed custom homes varying in size from 1800 sf to over 20,000. All were in coastal high wind and flood zones requiring significant coordination between architectural and structural design. It is this early investment in detail oriented design that places a premium on life and safety issues, that continues to influence me to this day.

Roger Duffala Interior Designs & Robert John Dean Interior Design

Draftsman

Between 2001 and 2007 I split my time between Anglo Consolidated, Roger Duffala Interior Designs and Robert john Dean Interior Designs. While working with Roger and Robert I learned additional concepts of interior design, and drafted over 50 individual projects. These included numerous residential jobs, several commercial office build-outs, several hospitality designs (including Maestro's at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center), and a couple country clubs. Work included designing and spec'ing custom casegoods and furniture, general space planning and furniture layouts, and fixture selections.
