I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B. of Architecture in 2015. My primary fascination is in how architecture can encourage social interaction between strangers in public spaces. This movement began with Constant's writings on New Babylon, the work of the Situationists, and Jane Jacobs. As hyper-efficiency continues to dictate urban design, and digital devices further isolate pedestrians streets are stripped of their original aura of connectivity. My aim is to revitalize the public realm, bring back the sense of community and sense of presence to users itching to find their place int these bustling, dense urban cities. Through street furniture, installations, and a conscious understanding of human flows I'd like to restructure public spaces to respond to our innate needs and create safe spaces for people to pause, interact, and feel inspired to be their best self.
