A student at Linn Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon, Cody Gotchall is working towards a career involving mathematics and data analytics. Since starting college, he has taken several important courses relating to his desired field of work, including accounting and data analytics of business. Cody Gotchall has also taken an engineering graphics class, during which he made a key fob and gained experience with SolidWorks.

Cody Gotchall has recently found a resource to help individuals with brain injuries, called the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center or BIRC. It’s provided by Progressive Rehabilitation Associates (PRA) in the Cedar Hills area of Portland, Oregon. He has found the experience very helpful with learning and practicing social communication and interaction skills. Mr. Gotchall has been attending weekly sessions. He has met many people who have brain injuries as a result of work or medical condition, though his own brain injury occurred while he was an infant.

Mr. Gotchall began his college career after graduating from Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis. While in high school he maintained high grades, earning membership in the National Honor Society, and was active with the school’s robotics team; he enjoyed a variety of courses, most notably math and science. After graduating, he enrolled at Oregon State University because of its variety of majors focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses. He later transferred to his current college to continue his education.

Throughout his schooling, Cody Gotchall has balanced various pet and yard care jobs. He was responsible for feeding and watering local resident’s dogs and cats on several occasions and handled lawn mowing, weed whacking, and various yard care responsibilities. Additionally, Mr. Gotchall spent time volunteering for several organizations and events, including the Heartland and Safe Haven Humane Societies and Chintimini Dog Show. Read Less
