I had the privilege to attend The Maryland institutes, College of Art's Hoffberger School of Painting when Grace Hartigan was the Director of the Program. She Chaired the School from (1965-2008)
Grace Hartigan was part of the New York School Abstract Expressionist Artists and Painters that emerged in New York City during the 1940s and '50s. Her close friends and peers included Jackson Pollock, Willem and Elaine de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, Joseph Cornell, Frank O'Hara and many other important Artist of that period.
Grace Hartigan was part of the New York School Abstract Expressionist Artists and Painters that emerged in New York City during the 1940s and '50s.
