I was hired on contract as an in-house freelance designer for The Public Society, a start-up design studio focused on designing for good. I work closely with creative director Cristian Flemming and his team to produce brands, designs and stories that will have an impact on the way we think and live. I learned to work as a team as well as learning about day to day aspects of running a small design/printing studio. I worked from initial client meeting through in-house production to produce unique collaborations. With a major focus of typography I honed my type skills as well as illustration, hand lettering and printing processes.

I worked closely with Creative Director Kelly Lappin to learn day to day aspects of running a small design studio. I learned design and client relation skills while heading projects with long term clients of Kelly's.

With business partner TIm LaSalle (timlasalle.com) we opened up a small design studio and have been working with small businesses in New York to create unique design solutions. Check out our website and follow our media to keep track of new work.

I worked with start-ups, local businesses, artists and musicians to create logos, advertisements and branding. I worked closely with clients and learned a lot about conducting business as a designer by experience and research. I learned the importance of constant communication and clear communication along with learning to prepare and deliver project files.

I worked at my colleges Design Services working on advertisements and projects for college events. I headed projects and created unique designs within the schools design standards, i managed client request forms and project deadlines. Through my experience I learned real world principles, business practices, working with design standards and the importance of deadlines. My work has been printed in various local magazines such as Chronogram, Visit Vortex and others as well as printed material the school used to recruit students.

I was responsible for operating and maintaining the Design Labs and Photo Labs after classroom hours. I provided assistance and instruction to photography and graphic design students on programs and tools found in the lab.
