Bojana Dimitrovski is a professional illustrator and painter. She comes from an artistic background, including three generations of painters. So far, her love of drawing and painting has been traced to her great-grandfather, who painted frescoes in a small wooden church somewhere in Macedonia.
For a while she lived in Canada, illustrating ad campaigns and design projects, mostly under the wing of McMillan design agency in Ottawa. At the time, the computer was her main tool for drawing and painting, and her illustrations were featured in magazines like Redbook, Vogue and Glamour. She also spent some time working in classical animation.
Eventually she moved back to the Old World, and re-discovered her desire to illustrate books. In 2006 she graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Belgrade. She has illustrated a number of children’s books in Slovenia, including Fire, which was nominated for Levstik Award, and the trilogy about Vilko the cat, which she co-authored.
She lives and works in Slovenia.
