Bill Ryerson maintains specialized knowledge in a variety of issues pertaining to population, reproductive health, immigration and emigration. Over the course of his 40-year career, William Ryerson has gained experience at numerous organizations that advocate sustainable population and migration (immigration and emigration) systems.

In 1998, Ryerson founded Population Media Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of population issues in developing countries. He serves as the company’s chief executive officer and works in regions around the world to affect social change through entertainment education. Ryerson also functions as chair and chief executive officer of Population Institute, a nonprofit that educates various media-based, environmental, and government organizations on the importance of sustainable populations.

Throughout his career, the experienced activist has maintained affiliations with multiple professional organizations and associations. He currently acts as an advisory board member with the Earl Babbie Research Center at Chapman University, located in Orange, California. In addition, he holds the positions of founder and chair of the board of the Population Community Foundation and operates as an advisory council member with Population Matters.

Prior to beginning his career, Bill Ryerson attended Amherst College, where he earned a bachelor of arts in biology. Subsequently, he graduated from Yale University with a master of philosophy in biology. Read Less
