Varian Medical Systems

Mechanical Engineer

Designed mechanical components and systems to improve quality/reliability, performance, and reduce cost. Developed prototypes and designed tests to validate design changes. Developed and improved manufacturing processes to ensure world-class quality and maximum productivity. Worked with cross functional teams to solve production and design challenges. Interfaced with development teams to ensure new products met the latest DFM standards. Troubleshot complex mechanical issues and investigated material failures

Measurement Specialties, Inc.

Mechanical Design Engineer

In this position I was responsible for designing and fabricating test fixtures. This included developing technical part/assembly drawings, BOM’s, and communicating with manufacturers. This demanded a great understanding of DFM in order to minimize cost. I also lead in the automation of several of these fixtures, requiring knowledge in motion control systems and LabView programing. Upon completing these fixtures I trained technicians and manufacturing personnel on assembly and test methods.

Mechanical And Aerospace Engineering Department; San Jose State University

Teaching Assistant

In this role I was responsible for teaching the lab segment of the MAE department’s computer aided design (CAD) course. In the first segment of this course I covered basic modeling techniques with SolidWorks and transitioned to Creos 2.0 in the second segment. This position required extensive knowledge with CAD modeling and design protocol. In this course I emphasized designing for adaptability allowing for ease of modification when changes are required after completion.

University Of California, Merced

Research Assistant

This was a vibrational analysis research position. In this position I designed and fabricated prototype piezoelectric (oscillatory) energy generators. Upon completion I conducted several field tests collecting preliminary data (using LabView DAQ device) and analyzed efficiency observing possible methods for improvement.
August 2010 - May 2011 Merced, California, United States

COINS Fellowship - University Of California, Berkeley

Center of Integrated Nanomechanical Systems Intern

During this research I examined nanomechanical properties of Vitreous Silica nanowires. Upon completion I formulate a professional poster summarizing my results and findings. This was then presented during the awards ceremony at UC Berkeley.
