Anthony Hall

Designer/Illustrator

I am a full time t-shirt and toy artist. On top of that, I also started my own company called Harebrained with two other friends of mine. We design & print our own apparel, as well as offer our design services to anyone who is in need of them. Stickers, logos, branding, websites, apparel– Harebrained can do it all.

Work Experience

4 Seasons Design

Senior Designer

As a senior designer, I have several responsibilities. I research new looks, toys, fads and printing techniques that will work well for one or all of the company's several apparel lines. Being one of the most versatile artistsat Four Seasons Design, when new art is needed (for any apparel line), I am usually the go-to-guy to create that art. Some days I will be working on a Young Men's design in the morning , then a Girls 4-6 for lunch, and finish my day off with a Boys 4-7 design. Other days I create presentation boards for the whole sales team to present to buyers in hopes of gaining new accounts. Another responsibility that I have is to design new toys or improve the ones that we already have. Sometimes rather than improving a toy, I will update the packaging so that it feels fresh and looks more appealing on the shirt- its much more cost effective to do that, plus you still get rid of your inventory rather than having to buy new product. I also have plenty of experience in production as well; one of my first responsibilities at Four Seasons Design was to prepare all files (t-shirt, packaging, and toy art) so that they would be ready for production. Working this job has taught me everything that's involved in the development of a product and brand identity.

Harebrained Design

Co-Owner

I started my own company in 2007 and now run it with 3 other friends. As an owner, my responsibilities include anything involved with the day-to-day operations. I deal with any administrative, legal, or financial duties that may come up. On top of that I am the primary provider of new art and content for the website. Once new designs are done, I then screenprint the art onto the tees as soon as possible so that they will be available for purchase on the website right away. Some of our products are made overseas, so I have to be in constant contact with the factories to ensure that our products are being made with the highest quality and in a timely fashion. About once a week, I work with my friend Jesse in QA’ing our website. We update the site; add plug-ins, tweaking it ever so slightly and testing all links. About once every two weeks, we look at the analytics of the website traffic and determine what action is needed to increase website visitors. In between the emails from customers, manufactures, freight forwarders, and people commissioning designs, I spend my time searching the internet for stores and boutiques that will carry our products. Basically any free time that I do have, is dedicated to marketing, advertising and expanding the Harebrained name. Starting my own business has been difficult, but it’s taught me every aspect of what makes a company successful, and to look for where inefficiency and redundancies exists.
