To interpret the emotion and mood of my subject matter, I use color, light, and texture. I experienced cultural shock and different aesthetics traveling in Asia, North America, and Europe. I am drawn to contrasting elements in daily life, such as artificial items against organic ones. I am drawn to the subtle color shifts on human flesh. I am interested in investigating and interpreting how the color temperature changes on surfaces from light to shadow. I also love to discover abstract compositions from day to day life. With the intriguing composition and passionate brush strokes, the audience is able to enter my paintings and share my emotions. My painted environment created an interaction between itself and the audiences. I use opaque color as a strong contrast next to less saturated color to highlight the subject in my paintings. I work in large scale for portraitures. Life size and even larger scale paintings create an environment that draws viewers in.

I work on a number of paintings simultaneously. My paintings often take long periods to finish and are composed of several layers. I like to experiment with different textures by different application ways of paint. I sometimes lay down thick strokes as the base and return with more layers of thick paint or glazing on top. I also make abstraction pieces based on the shapes and color in my figurative paintings.
