Ahmed Sikander is a Mumbai based cartoonist and illustrator. He started his career by teaching guitar and eventually got into the field he is most passionate about ever since he was a kid, illustration. While in college, he designed and supplied his own line of merchandise such as T shirts, Mugs, Calendars and original framed illustrations by him to stores such as Attic (Santacruz & Kolaba), Loose Ends in Bandra and Azaad Bazaar in Bandra. He has illustrated for companies like Bubblewrapped.asia, Burrp.com, and Home Shop 18. He has worked for PING Digital as a 2D animator, Graphic Designer and Illustrator and is currently working at Ting as a Graphic and Illustrator. He has also illustrated for Meta Desi Comics, in their anthology series called Ground Zero Vol. 2 & 3, collaborating with writers Sudeep Menon and Akshay Dhar in the story Once upon a time in the North written by Sudeep Menon . He has also taught Cartooning to children through the Writers Bug. Designer by day, Illustrator by night, he has dived into the world of creativity.
His main influences are Skottie Young, Tim Sale, Mario De’ Miranda (Didn’t know who he was as a kid but have always loved his work.), R. K. Lakshman, Chris Sanders, Derf Backderf, Bob Dylan, Jack White, Slash, Austin Stevens, Romulus Whitaker, to name a few.
Apart from Illustration, he loves playing music and will often be found strumming his guitar and blowing his harmonica. Read Less
