Work Experience

Ximo Rocks

Lead Designer

While at Ximo I’ve redesigned the company’s identity, designed identities for two lines of energy drinks in both bottle and packet form, designed, built and implemented no fewer than 5 websites (ximo.us, ximorocks.com, ximomango.com, ximojunk.com, ximoshots.com). At Ximo I regularly design brochures, booklets of varying size and depth, flyers, business cards, banners, powerpoint presentations, instructional videos complete with soundtrack, flash banners, new product concepts, etc. This job has required the constant designing of just about every classical and digital form of media one can imagine.

Ximo has also required the construction and maintenance of elaborate online infrastructure. For example, we have needed to provide our customers with the option to print their own collateral (cards, flyers, banners, shirts, etc.). Not only was I tasked to design these multiple options, but had to build and maintain an account with a print vendor and enable customers to use it by producing instructional videos, and posting those on our own site. This was the case with merchandise sites, surveys on new products, bulk email services - and using google analytics to track it all.

At Ximo I’ve designed collateral, created and designed instructional material, brought multiple products from prototype to mass production, built and maintained online infrastructures using services from small commercial to enterprise level software development, fostered relationships with many sales vendors and reps, built and tracked GS1 based barcoding, and so much more.

Independent

FREELANCE, ILLUSTRATION, DESIGN, SEO, SEM, IDENTITY, FLASH ANIMATION,

My freelance projects have included the creation of multiple iPhone apps including UI, script writing and illustration (Dimetrodone, and Italic Labs), identity design projects (Wireless Lifestyle, Hubych & Shaw, Grant Motor Sports, Studio Azul), Flash design and animation (Ari Jeans, REIC), the creation and implementation of SEO and SEM strategies (Dreamline Wireless, Dimetrodone, Photasm), the design and illustration of vehicle wraps (Grant Motor Sports), multiple Wordpress sites, and much more.

I worked with Give Play (an online video game startup company which is a subsidiary of Lifetime Customer) primarily to illustrate a 2D library of animations, characters, backgrounds and sprites. While there I quickly moved into all areas of design as well. I completed package designs, pamphlets, web site layout, and various corporate collateral and game concepts. My favorite project was a series of posters meant for art students, which broke down color theory and usage using existing concept illustrations as examples. More recently worked with Lifetime Customer in producing web video products for their sales and marketing.

Id Tech

LEAD INSTRUCTOR

My particular responsibilities as Lead Instructor involved assuming a general air of authority, maintaining orderly class environments, archiving all work created by the students and updating the portion of IDT’s website which showcased the Brown campus student web projects. Other responsibilities included teaching classes in Flash, Fusion developer 2 and Dreamweaver, overseeing the setup, takedown and networking of over 30 computers and other equipment, keeping regular inventories, and generally keeping an eye on 30 (or so) energetic teenagers per week – It was quite a summer!
