Researches for my Illustration project:
The two last slides are my first experiments on Illustrator. It was a struggle to find the right angle of the box, the right pattern and overall a good illustration that communicates that is a box of tampons and not a candy box.
At first, I wanted to created a tampon that was a note rolled but the idea was already done and it's wasn't easy to understand if it was reduced.
We also had to write a 1500 words essay on the issue. My problematic was "How can art fight the stigmas and taboos about menstruation?". Here are some more researches on the issue. I have listened to podcasts, TedTalks (I recommend Nadya Okamoto's) and looked through every article and academic & encyclopedic journals and texts I could find.
There were also exercises to help with the writing of the essay, they were pretty useful to find keywords.
