Pee Wee Herman
Pee Wee has a major influence on my creative style. Growing up I remember how interesting and weird the show was and "Big Adventure" was an instant classic that we still love in our house. I was fascinated by the colors, the lights, the humor, it just resonated for some reason and stuck with me.
This little project was another exercise, this time in cel animation. My job has me do a variety of things (video production, photography, animation, design, 3D, 2D, vector) and sometimes I need to remember how to do a certain thing. So to keep fresh with cel animation I decided to do a "quick" 5 second animation... This includes drawing by hand 120 frames, 4 separate times (a rough pass to time it out, a pass with cleaned up lines, a color pass, then a shading pass). It requires a lot of patience and a totally different skill set then anything else I do, but it's also a lot of fun.
