Nowadays, we are constantly acknowledging and receiving information that is happening around us, I'm sure because there are easier and every day more and more ways to get in touch with all kind of information, sometimes this is information we don't need and some other times that we think we don't need, but there still exists. I'm talking specificaly about the constant news of wars all over the world, problems with the international economies, everyday more violence and even closer to those places or people we never imagined it before, drug trafficking, governments thirany, total chaos; that kind of things, even when we act or pretend we don't care, it is damaging us, from inside, sometimes we don't even notice but we are acting more violent, and getting angry for stuff that doesn't matter at all or with this apathy that makes us insensible to others.
With this project, I'm making an analogy of the "Tower of Babel", just a fragment of the story that tell us about all the people of different cultures, ways of thinking, customs and languages, got along together to build this tower, without any kind of problem because of evident differences or language barriers, and the principal goal of building this tower was to reach this divinity or ilumination which was prohibited among mortals and just ruled by god. In the same way, I'm playing with this unique and singuar characters by dressing them in different mexican floklor costumes or dressings, depicting some of the varieties of cultures we have here in Mexico, and how they don't have any issue or problem between them, working together and helping each other to reach their goal, in this case, not the eternal and sublime ilumination, just opneing their minds and looking for new horizons, new paths, different ways of seeing life and of course not losing their faith in something, anything.
En estos dias, estamos en constante cambio, adquiriendo conocimientos e información de lo que sucede a nuestro alrededor, estoy seguro que esto se debe al fácil acceso a información que tenemos dia con dia y que cada vez existen más y diferentes formas de hacerlo; en ocasiones es información que no necesitamos y en otras tantas ocasiones, es información que nosotros creemos no necesitar, pero ahí sigue. Hablo específicamente, acerca de las noticias actuales, guerras por aquí y por allá, problemas en la economía internacional, más y más violencia y cada vez más cerca de nosotros, tan cerca de lo que nunca habíamos podido imaginar, el narcotráfico, la tiranía de los gobiernos, el caos total y este tipo de notas, que aun cuando nos hagamos los desinteresados o solamente desviemos nuestra mirada a otra parte, queramos o no, nos está haciendo daño, daño por dentro, de ese que es dificil identificar y sanar y conforme no nos damos cuenta de estos cambios internos, somos más violentos e inseguros, nos enojamos facilmente por cualquier cosa, hasta por cosas que podrían parecer insignificantes y que nos acercan a la apatía, de esa que es contagiosa y que nos hace indiferentes e insesibles.
En este proyecto, hago una analogía de "La Torre de Babel", donde tomo un pequeño fragmento de la historia que nos habla de las personas que la construyeron, personas que aun siendo de diferentes culturas, costumbres, formas de pensar e idiomas, se entendían bien, sin ningún problema entre ellos con el único fin de llegar a esta divinidad e iluminación espiritual, la cual estaba prohibida para cualquier hombre o mortal y únicamente posible y existente para dios. De la misma forma, juego con estos únicos y singulares personajes, que vestidos en solo algunas de las diferentes formas de las que existen dentro del folclor mexicano y los cuales olvidan sus diferencias y dejan atrás cualquier problema, con tal de ayudarse, de trabajar juntos, unidos, con el único fin, no de llegar a esta sublime y eterna iluminación, solamente para que al llegar hasta arriba, puedan abrir sus mentes y ver nuevos horizontes, nuevos caminos, diferentes formas de ver la vida y por supuesto, sin perder la fe, fe en lo que sea, en lo que quieran, pero que siga siendo fe.
