Second Year University Project: Everything About One Thing
Brief
Gather a complete knowledge about one single thing and make that accessible for the public in the form of either a book or independent magazine. Working with your one thing (the more specific, the more you can zoom in and go into details, the better). Observe it, analyse it, take it to pieces, deconstruct it.
The word I was given was paperclip, where I took the everyday function of a paperclip and portrayed it through photomontage within a publication. This project focuses more on the purpose of a paperclip where it brings two things together in which I have incorporated the idea of bringing two things together through photomontage and collage work.
Colouring was kept very basic throughout the publication by using black and white with often a splash of colour which kept to the running theme of contrast. Below and above are an example of some spreads and imagery portrayed within the publication.
