I wonder if a scene like these was normal once?

This was another study of pencil on paper.
I chose the reference picture showing a scene of three children deliberating on a purchase of "rujak" (a traditional snack in Indonesia) while their chaperone watches from a distance.
I grew up in the city as a Chinese descended Indonesian,
my reality just didn't line up with picture perfect scenes like this,
as a result i've developed a longing for them.
Traditional clothes, foods, and festivals were just never a part of my life.
I've only known them from pictures and videos.
Maybe one day..
