About This Illustration:
This illustration was made based on the russian model Irina Martynenko. The digital painting technique followed some steps: the illustration was, firstly, made in grayscale, in order to control the luminosity levels. Subsequently, the hues and the saturation were added. The colors used in the painting were chosen as a reference to the quote above: the warm colors are the same observed in the most intense moment of a sunset.
The intention for this illustration was to make it similar to a traditional painting, which is the reason why coarse brush strokes were used. The eyes went through a greater refinement and detailing, as a way to express the personality of the model in a more accurate way. During the whole painting process, only one brush was used for study and practice purposes.
