Julie Twist Properties Branding

A brand refresh for the first city centre
estate agents in Manchester.
Julie Twist Properties was established in 1994. We worked closely with Julie Twist to produce the new visual identity and help roll out the look across everything from their office exteriors to their vehicles.

The rebrand was the first major overhaul in 15 years which had started to look very dated against a wide range of competitors across the city as the property market expanded.

Since the rebrand we’ve continued to work closely with Julie Twist and they’ve gone on from strength to strength and now have three offices across Manchester.
The bright green and warm grey replaced a palette of various dark blues, greys and yellows — to give a brave solid stand out from the rest of the property market. The new strapline embraced their heritage and expertise in the market.
The roundel itself was an evolution of the intensely detailed and somewhat messy original round logo which contained the full name and struggled to work at small sizes — several versions existed of this and were used inconsistently.
One of the main changes was establishing a consistent brand tone of voice and along with the colour and brand guidelines, a strong versatile typeface. Avenir was chosen for legibility and versatility as a family with many weights to play with — replacing the somewhat haphazard mish mash of type which was used across their print through the years. The print has continued to be varied but now carries consistency through it.
The brand guidelines have evolved over the years alongside the business to accomodate new work, and continue to tie everything together consistently.
Through the years Squid has continued to work with Julie Twist and created a range of bespoke icons to cover their various services and move away from using some pretty unfortunate looking clipart!
