STYLE OF CARRY

"The Style of Carry" is a book that captures six months of design discovery, a story of bags, Asia, lifestyles, and stitching. This project focused on personal growth as a designer and aimed to answer the question, "Who do I want to be by the end of this four-year journey as a student of Industrial Design?" The project revolved around the world of carry and involved working with the Melbourne-founded bag company Crumpler. In Part 1, the focus was on discovery and exposure, travelling around Singapore and Seoul. While Part 2 explored the maker-space, designing the Ice Baby Cooler bag with Crumpler. Through designing the bag, I learned about design processes, manufacturing, artisanal crafts, fabrics, and consumer lifestyles, among other things. The Style of Carry marks the end of Honours and the beginning of my journey as a designer of the world. It is my story.
